2021 Four Barrels Pinot Noir

"This may still be the best wine I’ve ever made—though there are some young 2024s in the cellar that could give her a run for her money in time. The cryptic label? It’s simply the barrel ID numbers of the four barrels that make up this blend.

The wine is 75% Block 19 from Battle Creek Vineyard, fermented as 100% whole-cluster, and 25% Yamhela Block 1, my most dark and brooding block, which was destemmed. Together, these components create a blend that embodies everything I love about whole-cluster wines—elegant aromatics, lifted complexity, and a long, evolving finish—while being enriched and deepened by the dark fruit and structure of the Yamhela.

Aromatic and dynamic, this wine evolves beautifully with every swirl and sip, unfolding layers of character in the glass. It’s incredibly long on the palate—linger-worthy without astringency or drying edges.
